What Is a Dental Bridge?

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to the teeth on either side of the gap — or to dental implants. It's a fixed restoration you don't remove.

Types of Bridges

Traditional

Crowns on the teeth either side of the gap with a false tooth in between.

Cantilever

Anchored to one adjacent tooth only.

Maryland

A metal or porcelain framework bonded to the back of adjacent teeth.

Implant-Supported

Secured to implants for maximum stability. Ideal for larger gaps.
